Graphic design is not my thing, so when it comes to website graphics I have to try and find them free online (I don’t like spending money unless I have to!) So when I needed some page headers for two of my BANS sites I thought I was going to have to part with some cash! The first site I’d created didn’t have a logo at all for a few months! Then when I realised it was making money, I thought I should at least make it look the part.
Fortunately before spending any money I had an idea. I’m glad to say it’s one that has worked out very well and I hope you to will benefit from.
My idea was this, why didn’t I get a photograph of a golf course or something relating to golf, change the image size to 968×180 pixels, the size I needed for the standard logo that a BANS site accepts, then upload it to the site. It was so simple yet it worked and very effective too.
All I needed to do was find an image that was fairly bland where the website title would be written. Voila! It was a 5 minute job and in the end very easy. I used an image from Bigstock Photo it cost me peanuts and is totally legal!
Have a look at the end results Ladies Golf UK and Ladies Golf Clubs To edit the image I used Adobe Photoshop Elements, it’s the cut down version of Photoshop but much cheaper! Even cheaper and open source, so FREE is Gimp.
I hope this helps, if I can add anything else drop me a comment.
I’m going to try my hand a shooting a video of this process when I can work out how to do that!
