I was at my favorite forum this moring and one of the members posted that he has been getting several attempts at hacking his sites using the Timthumb vulnerability. This was somnething that was happening a lot a few months ago. It seems it’s never gone away!
Anyway another of our mebers the infamous ‘Spanky’ has posted a link for a brilliant free plugin. I installed and tested it out and it works like a charm.
Here is what you need to do:
1.Install plugin it’s the Timthumb Vulnerability Scanner
2. Locate the plugin in your ‘WordPress Tools’ section
3. Run the scan
4. Fix any issues shown with just one click.
It couldn’t be simpler. So just ensure that anytime you update your themes or plugins that you also run this scan. And also ensure that you keep this plugin up to date.
