I’ve always found creating or having headers created a pain in the proverbial! 
I know it’s a common problem not just me! Anyway I have found a method that works that I can do myself as and when needed and it takes no time at all!
I’ve been using GFX Writer V2.0 Header Creator it’s no replacement for Photoshop for all of you purists out there it has to be said. The problem with Photoshop is that I can’t use the blinking thing anyway!
This software is something I can use however and with just a bit of practice you can turn out some great looking results. It does headers, ebook covers, DVD and software boxes etc etc.
