Who in their right mind would want to pay Microsoft the hundreds of pounds that they command for the complete commercial Microsoft office suite when there is such a brilliant free alternative over at Open Office.
I just had to share this with you, it’s a bit off topic to my usual posts, but is such a money saver I felt I needed to let you all know. It isn’t new, in fact I’m sure some of you have heard of it and some maybe even use it. Actually if you do use if let us know in comments telling us what you think of it.
I’d heard about how good it was but had never got around to having a look. I imagined that it would be light-weight compared to the Microsoft product. I was also concerned that I would need to learn how to use it! How wrong was I!
I downloaded it to my new fantastic little laptop and was up and running in minutes! I use the MS spreadsheet Excel and MS Word a lot so I was very surprised to find that there was amazing functionality with this free software and virtually no learning curve!
You can get MS office student for a much lower price but it doesn’t have the full suite of products.
I am very impressed with the ability to save products as PDF files, which is a big benefit for the Internet Marketer. No more going to sites to have files converted, then realising you made a mistake and have to wait 20 minutes before you are allowed to do another conversion!
So far I haven’t found anything in Open Office that I can’t do in Microsoft Office. It’s totally free and I wholeheartedly give it a five star rating.
